is there anybody out there?
I've been a bad, bad blogger. I pretty much blew off September. I have a good excuse. My birthday was on the 18th and Mary Jane's was on the 28th. I was so blown away by being both 38 years old and being the mother of an 11 year old that I had no time for blogging. The astute reader may even notice that I didn't even have a September Typelist of books on my sidebar for the books I read. Since I actually only completed one book during the whole month I decided to just add it to October's books. Now if I had started a Typelist for 'books started but not completed" I wouldn't have enough side bar space to list them.
The one book I did actually finish was A Thousand Splendid Sunsby Khaled Hosseini. I highly recommend A Thousand Splendid Suns. It is absolutely unfathomable how horrible life was for women under the rule of the Taliban. Just to give you a little tid bit--The women's hospital was so woefully underfunded that one of the main characters had have a c-section with out any type of anesthetic at all. I woman could beaten or an infraction so minor as laughing in public. It was a truly horrible abuse of human rights. I am now reading The Kite Runner by the same author.
I just finished a book called The Leisure Seeker that really gave me a lot of food for thought. I am going to blog about it tomorrow for The Sunday Salon. That's right, I plan on blogging two days in a row!
Peace,
Wendy
