of crafting. I bet for a minute there you thought I had watched Aladdin. Well you bet wrong. Thank the DVD god's my girlies grew out of the dreaded Disney Princess phase years ago. And I'm starting to hear the dreadful rhyme 'Hannah Montana' less and less lately. I'm hearing more and more Twilight and Buffy these days, which I'm totally down with, because I am all about the vampires (or vampyres if you want to be pretentious, which I am so not).
Anyway, the crafting. I took Katherine to the library today to take a class to learn how to make a wallet out of duct tape. I was vaguely aware that you could make stuff out of duct tape, but, oh, had no idea the colors duct tape came in. Kat made her wallet out of lime green tape with a black and white likeness of her cat Simon on it. I would post a picture of it, because it is the absolute definition of cuteness, but I can't get my camera and my computer to communicate with each other. I think they got divorced and the camera is all Dude I got sole custody of the memory stick. I also can't print anything because I lost the instruction manual to the printer and can't figure out how to install the new ink cartridges. I'm a bit lacking in the technology department. But what I lack in techno skillz I totally make up for in mad crafting skillz. Foshizzle. Which brings me back to the duct tape thing. Did I mention they make duct tape in camo? and hot pink? and hot pink camo? Now that Kat and I have learned how to make duct tape "fabric" we can make anything. There is even a contest every year to make a prom dress out of duct tape. How Project Runway is that? I'm going to start small, though. I'm thinking Christmas tree ornaments.
Katherine ponied up the green to buy Stick It!: 99 DIY Duct Tape Projects from her vast resources. I tell ya, the girl is the future Warren Buffett. I ponied up the shipping from my meager resources (she'll be supporting me in my dotage) to pay the shipping. I'm carrying on the grand tradition in my family of children not paying shipping or sales tax. My mother started it. The book will be here on Monday. Then we will be headed out to the Walmarts for some of this.
Peace,
Wendy
